My Current Hair Care Routine | Damaged Hair

Hair Care Routine

Hey guys,

So I thought I would share my current hair care routine! I  shared on the blog that I had had my hair cut recently and really wanted to grow my hair healthy! [Blog Post Here]
I have filmed a video talking about it on my Youtube, but I know some people just want to read about it instead so you can have the best of both worlds hah!

Firstly washing my hair too often was becoming a problem. I would either wash my hair EVERYDAY or every other day. If you speak to any hairdresser or read online, everyone will say it's not the best to wash your hair daily because it strips the oils out of your hair. The Herbal Essences PH balance Golden Raspberry And Mint Shampoo is really refreshing and makes my hair feel so clean.

Another thing that has always been a problem with my hair is how dry it is! I have tried so many treatments but nothing has seemed to work until now. Every other wash I will do a Coconut oil and Castor oil treatment. I basically warm up the Coconut oil and mix it with the Castor, apply it to my hair and leave it on for up to 2 hours. Both oils have many known benefits and I have actually noticed a big difference since doing this. You shouldn't do it more often than once a week though!

I've also reduced the ammount of heat I use on my hair. I have been blow drying my hair straight/almost straight with a round bristle brush instead of blowdrying my hair roughly and using hair straighteners. Not only is that half the heat but I feel like my hair has lots more volume. I have also been using a Tangle Tamer brush. This brush is amazing because it doesn't rip my hair out and I now actually enjoy brushing my hair!
I have been using the Aussi 3 Miracle Oil reconstructor. Let me tell you, this is my fave hair product at the moment!! It makes my hair so much smoother and smells so nice! This reduces the frizz, which is what I struggle with!

Anything else I've forgot to mention in the blog post will be in the video!

  3. I am so interested in the Miracle Oil, it seems like a great product! I've been striving to have better hair. Usually, I also apply coconut oil. I apply it for the entire night and rinse it out in the morning. Great post!

  4. I do a coconut aloe vera treatment about twice a month as well, works wonders on my dry hair. Too much bleach over the years, I guess.

  5. I have pretty damaged hair myself and I love using coconut oil, although I haven't tried it in combination with castor oil. I've heard about it a lot though, so I really should pick some up!

  18. Sounds like such a fab routine you've got going Laura! I really must get a tangle tamer, they sound so worthwhile. It's great you're using less heat on your hair too. I try and get my hair cut regularly now and use my straighteners less and it's definitely helped with split ends and dryness overall of my hair. Loving your YT videos, you're a total natural babe! <3

  19. I have a love and hate relationship with herbal essences products, maybe I should give it a chance again :) I avoid washing my hair everyday, I used to do that and it damaged my hair a lot! 3 Miracle oil sounds great, I might check it out.

  20. As far as I'm concerned, I tried many hair products for my damaged hair (including many herbal products) but somehow failed to get the desired results. Just stumbled across your blog and found some positive vibes. Would like to give a shot at the products you mentioned here. Thanks for sharing, Laura!

  21. I need the oil reconstructor product! I am struggling with frizzy hair too and so far none has reduced the frizziness of my hair. I will give that one a try. :)

  22. I just balayaged my hair, so I practically bleached my head from dark brown to blonde. This bleach totally damaged my hair! I've been looking for a good shampoo and conditioner to use as well as a mask/treatment to do every once in a while! This post helped alot! Thanks girl! xx
