Motivation is one of the keys to success. If you're not motivated to do well, you probably won't get your desired end result. I have been lacking motivation for years now. A lot of it comes from the "I can't" or "It'll never work out for me so what's the point" way of thinking.
See for me, I.. like many others think negatively about doing something out of the box. I think there are so many things in day to day life that we have to push ourselves to do.
I wrote a blog post about loosing weight a few months ago, something I was very proud of. I managed to stay motivated enough to achieve it - something I was doing so wrong before. I decided to say no to things that I was tempted to do that were bad and yes to things that would help to achieve my end goal. What motivated me though?
I didn't have someone on my back screaming that I needed to loose weight, I was unhappy with my body no one else and decided to do something about it properly this time. I think the secret to motivation is to want something so bad that you will do anything to achieve it. You can read books, watch videos etc and I definitely think they help... but at the end motivation definitely comes from YOU,
Now this blog post isn't to be aimed at weight loss.
If you need motivation to do something, anything - maybe it's to loose weight, to study or to get out of bed. You can if it's within reach and you want it bad enough.
I'm defo using this drive I have at the moment to do the following things;
- Get back into and work hard on my blog
- Start studying and achieving some more qualifications
- Start doing more things out of my comfort zone
Sometimes you just need that little push.
What motivates you? What do you want to achieve with a little bit more motivation?
Love Laura x

DeleteSo proud of you for being so motivated and having such determination and drive babe! Motivation is totally a key to success, I agree 100%. I had the same negative pattern of thinking like you did a few years back too. It's only this past year or so (maybe even past few months) that I've somehow managed to fight it off and become more positive.
ReplyDeleteLooking at things in a different light really makes a ton of difference, as does wanting your end goal more than anything else, you made so many good points in this post on that. The book I'm writing motivates me, I'd say the three main goals are to finish the book I'm writing, make my blog a success and move out with my boyf, away from my hometown. I know you'll slay all your goals, you're amazing and I'm so proud of you! <3

I'm so glad you've managed to find your own determination and drive. You're goals are great ones, and i'm sure you you defo will achieve them! xx
DeleteMotovation can be so hard to find - you're so right about that 'I can't' attitude that can really hold you back. It's not necessarily because anyone has told you otherwise, but your own head can be so confining. When you start to break things down and realise that actually you can do whatever you want, motivation seems to kick in. So glad you managed to find some and feel better about yourself, I think that's one of the most tricky things - as I have drawn from my own experience anyway! But once you see results and how much better you feel, it seems crazy that you hadn't done things a certain way all along. Have followed you :)

DeleteI'm so glad you're feeling more motivated lovely! <3 I think the things that motivate me are success, which sounds kind of bad but if I write a blog post and a lot of people react positively towards it, it makes me feel like my content is appreciated and it inspires me to keep making more! Xx

DeleteAw you go girl! I share the same goals as you, especially getting out of my comfort zone. My eyes don't feel nice when I go out in daylight so it's difficult to go out sometimes at the best of times; I hope that now it gets darker earlier outside it will be easier for me :D your blog is lovely, you have the prettiest design and it's so great to meet you! xx
