My New Year promises to myself | 2014

Instead of doing "resolutions" I'm doing promises to myself, because they're for me after all!
So they are:

*write a blog post at least once a week, but making sure I put a lot of effort into each one.

*go on at least one date. I have become more fearful to go on dates, I think it's a self esteem thing, I'm a little jelous of people that can go on a date and not have one single nerve out of place.

*do something for charity. This could be anything- even donating something small to charity, but I want to do something good for someone else.

*save money properly. I want to save to move out.

These are the first few that have come into my mind! What are your New Years resolutions?? I wish everyone a good new year (as cheesy as it sounds)

My laptops broken:'(

Hey guys so I was hoping to write up posts etc. but unfortunately My laptop screen has broken.
For any of you laptop geeks out there is there any advice? (I'll put a pic below)

I don't know if I can fix the laptop, or even get a new one. I don't know how long this will take! So now I will either not post at all or maybe do mini posts on my mobile/iPad.

A Guide To Fake Tanning For Dummies | Home Tanning

Pondering on what to do for my next blog post, I thought to myself what do I kind of know well in the beauty world..I'm defo not a pro at fake tanning, but I know the basics and that's all everyone needs to know. I used to be more of a fake tan junkie, but nowadays go for the more natural look.
Image from thebeautyspot2012.wordpress.com
PREP
prepping your skin before applying fake tan is SUPER important.
I never used to believe in prepping my skin and so ignored doing it for ages, but the annoyance of uneven and flaky tan made me venture into ways to stop it.
There are only two main things you need to worry about BEFORE you start to apply your tan, these are; exfoliate and moisturize. Exfoliation will get rid of uneven, dead skin cells and moisturizing will smooth your skin for an even more even surface.
There are many exfoliaters out in the market, I especially love the one from Soap And Glory. But for anyone on a budget I would say get an exfoliating glove (can be as cheap as 99p). To be honest any old moisturizer will work, but I love the ones Vaseline do!

Types Of Fake Tan
This can be the part that is more confusing for fake tan newbies. There are quite a few main types which are; Daily moisturizers, Tanning mouse, Fake Tan, Instant tan.
Daily moisturizers are great for people that don't want instant results or wants subtle results. It usually takes about 2/3 applications to see a difference. As they're a moisturizer they moisturize your skin which is a bonus.  I really like the Dove one.
Tanning mouse's are my favourite. They glide on easily, blend easily and usually have an instant result. My favourite is St Moritz.
Fake tans in general (I don't know what else to call this category) but the liquidy fake tan. These can get a little messy when applying but the final results are usually really good.  The results are also instant because of the dark guide colour. An old time favourite of mine is Fake Bake.
Instant tanners are what they say on the tin. They literally give you an instant glow! When you apply the tan it looks a bit scary, but takes a bit of blending to get a gorgeous tan for an event or night out. My favourite is the Rimmel ones. They even do a waterproof one!

Application
OK, so apart from the daily moisturizers, I will say ALWAYS use a tanning mit. If you use your hands to apply normal fake tan be prepared for looking like you've slapped an oompa loopma. I mainly tan the top half of my body on a weekly basis. I start on applying tan usually on my arms first ( I don't know if that's the normal way). Apply the product onto the tanning mit first and then apply the mit on the skin. Blend, Blend, Blend!
With all fake tans (except instant tanners) I apply the tan the night before and wash off the guide colour the next morning. Then TA-DA you're left with an natural glow. If you don't do this be prepared to walk out the house looking a bit more streaky and smelling of fake tan and less I've been on holiday.

Tan Up Keep
There's not much really to advise on this? I would say keep moisturizing daily, and even exfoliate a little. Tanners usually last a maximum of a week, after that unfortunately you will need to remove any old tan. This means heavyish exfoliation. You will basically have to start again with the whole fake tan regime.

I have done a few fake tan reviews listed below;

I hope this advice helps anyone that's not sure about fake tanning. These are just the basics, and once again i'm not a pro ;p
What's your fave fake tan??

Things I Don't Like Doing | Anxiety

ermm.. I hope you guys don't think I'm a weirdo after you read this post.. I'm going to list a few things that most people find normal to do, but I find fearful or uncomfortable. I would like to add that these are certain situations I can think of that I wouldn't do on my own, if I have a friend etc. with me then I normally feel comfortable. I think my anxiety goes from extreeme to the other because there are a lot scarier things like doing announcements in front of 100's of people  and I actually feel comfortable doing that .. weird huh? anyways the list:

Going to A hairdresser  - I find hairdressers A bitchy and competitive place. Whenever I've been I can feel the tension between the workers (and I've tried a few hairdressers) Once I went to get my hair Ombre'd, when I asked the hairdresser for it she decided to change my mind to highlights. She did my hair and asked if I wanted it dried and straightened. I said NO because it was an extra charge for something I was willing to do at home, but the hairdresser sent an assistant over to do it anyways and so I thought it was free of charge. Not only did she deliberately charge me the extra charges, my hair looked nearly NO DIFFERENT, but I felt too uncomfortable to complain and so walked out £125 less off. I knew she knew I didn't feel calm there and she took advantage of that.

Returning something -  Yep, I'm one of those people that don't return items. I have many pieces of clothing stuck in my wardrobe with tags still on. I have taken things back before when I HAD to, when it's been really expensive for example, but everytime I do return an item I feel like I'm being judged, like I'm a cheapskate or something. I've never even had a bad experience, but I guess I'm in the mind set that you should make sure you're 100% happy with the item before purchasing?! I nearly always go by that haha....

Making A complaint - This is kinda A mixture of the first two? In my job I deal with A lot of complaints and so I know the routes and things to say when complaining, but I just can't do it myself. For example at A restaurant if I am not happy with the service or the food it would take a large push from my friends to complain, it's like I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I feel like if do make a complaint then instantly the people surrounding the company (in this case the restaurant workers) will all hate me. I guess I like to stick in my bubble and suffer in silence. There is one way I would complain and that is in an email or sometimes over the phone. I guess that's the chicken way but I can't stand confrontation unless it's A must.
image from Tumblr
The point is that I can actually do all these things, I know that you know that.  I have done all these things before and they haven't done anything really bad to me. I guess I just like to stay in my bubble and avoid any trouble or problems. When it comes down to it, if I have to do something I'll do it, I'm a young adult at the end of the day. I wish I could listen to my own advice.

I just wondered am I the only person that find these stressful situations??
What makes you feel uncomfortable?

OOTN: Christmas party

Yes it's the time of year in which we can get away with everything glittery and red!
I went to a casual Christmas party last night and thought I would share what I wore. As it was a work party I didn't want to go overdressed nor underdressed.
My dress is from New Look in the sales for £8.99 (bargain) I wore 70 dernier thick black tights and high black heels (all also from New Look!) I opted for my black leather jacket over the top for going outside. This wasn't my original planned outfit, but the outfit I wanted to wear didn't arrive in time :'(

I don't know if you guys notice, but my hairs a little longer! My hair extensions are from Lush and I will be doing a review when I've worn them a couple more times!

What is your perfect Christmas outfit?

Review: Bioderma H2O Micelle Solution

So, after so much hype about this Bioderma, I decided to try it myself!
I bought this from Amazon as it's not really easy to get hold of in England, and it cost around £20 (including delivery) for 500ml of the stuff.

I have been using this for the past week to remove my makeup before bed, and I have to say I am glad I have bought it.
Sometimes my eyes get sore when taking of makeup, but when I use Bioderma it literally feels like I'm only applying water!
This product takes of makeup easily with a cotton wool pad (or something similar) and has not broke me out or given me any reaction.
I have only been using small cotton wool balls and so have wasted some product, but I think the 500ml will last a little while!

The bottle cap is easy to undo to obtain the product. I don't think it's majorly travel friendly, especially with such a large bottle. With the smaller 50ml bottle I think the cap would be enough to stop the product leaking.

So overall I really like this product! Compared to other eye makeup removers, this feels amazing after use!

I give this 4.5/5

Have you tried this? What do you use to take off your makeup?

PS....I have been failing at Blogmas because of my work schedule :( weep

Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Hey guys! So yes it's another foundation review.
I was randomly browsing through Superdrug for a foundation to put on quickly before work (early hours of the morning) and then spotted the positively reviewed Healthy Mix Serum.

I have been wearing this foundation everyday for over a week, and now think that's a good amount of time to give an honest review. Just for information purposes I wear the shade 52 Vanilla (second from the lightest) and it cost around £9.99. This is branded as a radiance boosting foundation.

Starting with the colour match. I think its pretty close to my natural skin tone when I haven't fake tanned. I do sometimes find it really difficult to match A colour well to my skin tone as sometimes they can look really chalky on me or too tanned.

The longevity is amazing! I do shift work and it is still on my skin after 12 hours, by that time most of my foundations have gone patchy. I have dry skin and this foundation keeps my skin moisturized!
The consistency is actually quite runny (shown in pictures below) I really like this because it blend so well and as I have dry skin it's not too thick!
The packaging is pretty basic. It's a plastic bottle with a pump (which some more expensive foundations don't have) I like the packaging for travel purposes, but obviously it's not one to look pretty among my makeup collection.
The smell is kind of fruity and fresh! I quite like it, I hate foundations that smell strong or like cleaning products.

Overall I really like this foundation. Being someone that is a foundation junkie I rate this higher then some of my high end foundations. I would say this does boost radiance and is brilliant for someone with my skin type.
The only improvements I can think of is to have a larger colour range and maybe the packaging.

I give this 4/5

Have you tried this foundation? What's your fave foundation?

Regrets?! | BLOGMAS DAY 3

Yep I have regrets. Most people will say they do, others will say they don't regret anything as it's a life lesson.  Most of the things I regret are actually things I didn't do when I had the chance, a bit crazy really?  like the times when I didn't go on that date with the guy I really liked, or the time I didn't go on A spontaneous trip - all because I was scared.. There are times when I didn't stand up for myself or say the things I wanted to say because of the consequences.

So if I have any advice, it would be go for it. There may be a new job you're scared of going for, or that one place you want to visit. I wish I could follow my own advice, because if I did I think I would be a lot happier.
Of course I've wished I hadn't done silly things like that hair cut I had, or drunken antics.. but hey isn't that part of growing up?

image from under30ceo.com
Don't do anything silly, but if you know the consequences out way the benefits, then surely if all goes wrong it can't be too bad?

Products I Regret Buying #1 | BLOGMAS DAY 2

I don't usually write negative posts, but I really like the idea of being honest and sharing my thoughts. so ..

Gosh Primer: As you can see the bottle is quite old, so I don't know if they've come out with a better primer. But this current one is horrible, this was raved about by a lot of beauty guru's a couple of years, but whenever I've applied it, I want to take it straight off.

Chloe Rose Perfume: I've seen this perfume on a couple of people's wishlists, but I just don't like it. I bought this when I was in a rush and knew that it's lasts a long time - that's the only positive. When I'm wearing this I can feel it go in my nose (if that makes sense?) I feel this to be a bit "older lady" like and I only use this if I've got nothing else to wear.

Simple Hydro Mist: I was really hopeful when buying this, but to be honest I find no use for this product. I've tried it before putting on makeup and it makes it feel greasy. I've tried it after applying makeup and it makes my skin feel horrid! I have read so many good reviews, I must be doing something wrong.

Kiko Stick blush: I was so excited when buying this! When I tested it on my hand it was really pigmented and I thought this was a great product to keep in my handbag for touchups, Oh was I wrong. Whenever I try to apply this to my face, the product itself is so solid that it kind of takes off the foundation I've applied - big no no.

Rimmel Apocalips: Bare in mind I've only tried the nude version of this product, but I just HATE it. The consistency is way to thick which means I need to apply it very carefully, and nobody got time for that. The nude colour makes me look washed out and it feels horrible on my lips.

No7 Protect and Perfect Foundation: This foundation was colour matched by A sales assistant. (You know that little machine that they touch your face with) And the colour is at a least a shade too dark. This doesn't feel like A skin care brands foundation, in fact it feels like it's a more cheaper foundation - I can't explain it!

No7 Intelligent Colour Foundation: This was recommended by a friend when I had to find A foundation quick, I wish I didn't trust her choice lol. This product comes out a dark brown and then smooths into a colour matching your skin tone. It sounded really good and I was excited to try it, but it's just a foundation that goes patchy and seems to have really low coverage. My skin looks better without it than with it on.

Well, that's my first "products I regret buying" post! It was kinda fun moaning about things I didn't like haha.
Have you tried any of these products? What products do you regret buying?

Christmas 2013 Wish List | BLOGMAS?

Now before you look at the items I post, I just wanted to say that I'm not the type person to get spoilt on Christmas or my birthday. I may be lucky enough to get a couple of these things, but to be honest I can just go and buy these myself if I don't get these things. I didn't include any makeup items because I would rarely get bought makeup by my friends and family (because I'm too fussy).

The items I have included are actually useful or something I would use everyday!
For example the YSL perfume is so gorgeous.. it kind of smells like chocolate but not overly "young" or too sweet. A link to the perfume is HERE which costs around £40 for a smallish bottle (It's a expensive perfume)
I've never owned A yankie candle and thought it's a great thing to ask for when someone doesn't know what to get me, as it's not specific as I wouldn't mind which one I got.

I've NEVER been to a concert before and would love to be surprised with tickets to a show!
I should really add a boyfriend to this list hehe, then he could surprise me!!

All the other items are probably obvious why I want them :) what is on your wish list?

Love Laura xxx

Ps. I'm adding this after I posted this post, but anyways I might do Blogmas.. I've just gotta think of different ideas to post ?!? xx

When You Confuse Friends With People You Hang Out With...

That quote right there ^^ shows exactly why I am writing this post. There's a difference between true friends and people you just hang out with.

I read a survey that said you will have at around 300 friends in a lifetime?!?! (Including those little ones you make when you're young) Wow, so if they were friends why have I only got a percentage of the same ones still?
I always think of myself as a good friend, I treat others how they treat me, well I try to. But is it true that people just "drift apart". I think it is true in a certain aspect. You might make a friend in a dance class, but when you leave that dance class you have no similar interest - was that really a friend?

It's really hard for me nowadays to become to close to anyone and call them a true friend. Just when I think I've made another really good friend - they show their true side. Like the times when you're upset and need someone to talk to they're busy or the times when they put everyone before you. Sad isn't it. I am no where near perfect, but when I am close to someone I try to make sure I am there for them.. even if it's just a call or a text.

So use this post to step back and think. Out of your friends, how many of them are true friends, do you think that you can trust them with a secret and not worry about them telling anyone?! Will they tell you when they're not happy about something or just ignore you? be warey.

Party Outfit Wishlist | December 2013

Hey guys! So I love reading wishlists and as it's the "party season" I thought I would do a basic one to help out anyone who's wondering where and what to get, without feeling like they've gone over the top.
I know the 3 outfits are very simple, I chose them like that deliberately because I will be brave enough to wear these myself, and probably will actually buy them when it comes pay day!

TAG: I'm A Beauty Blogger, Get Me Out Of Here

1) You can only take ONE product into the jungle (aka your luxury item). What would you choose and why?
tinted moisturizer because it does two things at once :)

2) What would be your main pre-jungle worry?
Spiders and other creepy crawlies, one of my fears!

3) You only have five minutes to get ready before going into the jungle, what would be your quick beauty routine?
Hair up in a messy bun, and A quick application of tinted moisturizer.  I would have to quickly put on deodorant and some body spray - I don't wana smell now haha.

4) Last year we saw Helen Flanagan wearing her hair in a top bun. What would be your signature hairstyle?
Mine would be the same. My hair is really frizzy and looks like a lion main naturally down.

5) For moral support, which female celebrity would you like to be in the jungle with you?
Baring in mind they are my "friend" maybe someone like Beyonce. She seems quite down to earth

6) Everyone’s given a role in the camp. What lifestyle skill would you bring to the jungle?
I don't know if this will come as a surprise but I think I would make everyone laugh. I wouldn't be the joker, but would be ditzy and hopefully make everyone crack up haha. I also would be the one who cheers people up!

7) What one thing about being a beauty blogger sometimes makes you want to scream ‘Get Me Out Of Here’?
I don't really get this questions.. ermm so Not being able to fake tan in the jungle?

8) Challenge – This is a once in a life time opportunity. You’re up for a trial to face your fears or try something new, what would you choose to do and why?
I have a fear of heights so maybe something up high.

I also would love to tag everyone reading this! I really want to read all your answers :) xx

Review: St Moriz Mousse Fake Tan

I have been using this fake tan for years, and it's one of those products that has been in the beauty world for years...
I have already done 2 other fake tan reviews which are on  Xen Tan Mousse Intense and Xen Tan Dark Lotion. I have to say I prefer St Moriz to these tans even though they are triple the price!

Why I hear you ask?
  • Instant Color Pay off
  • Mousse makes it easy to apply
  • Lasts A couple of days to a week
  • Fades evenly
Application? ?? - As this is a mouse it glides on really easily. I recommend using a tanning glove. This product dries quite quickly which is a bonus!!

There have been many reviews that state this tan goes really patchy, now weirdly enough it used to go really patchy years ago, but now it isn't too bad. I think if you have a routine which includes; exfoliating and moisturizing then the result will be amazing for the price. (which is £4.99) This tan of course isn't perfect, it needs to be blended pretty well and there is a slight fake tan smell. I recommend applying this at night and washing it off the next morning (like I do with all tanners)

I would give this tan 4.5/5 because it is currently my fave! Have you tried this tan? What is your fave fake tan?

My Favourite Makeup Brushes

Hey guys so I'm really excited to post about my fave makeup brushes (a bit sad I know).
Now before I explain why I like each one and where they're from I want to say that the brushes in the picture look a little dirty (especially the handles) for some reason the bottom of two of my brushes have melted, I think maybe accidentally from a straightener.. whoops! But anyways I did clean them A day or so ago, so they're not dirty! And no I do not wash my brushes everyday " nobody got time for that!"

From left to right:

1. ELF professional bronzing brush - I use this mainly to apply blush when I want it quite pigmented. When I originally bought this it was meant to be for contouring but I can't contour. Weep.

2. Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I use this for foundation and it's the best brush I've ever tried to apply it. This is great for any sort of foundation (including mineral powders)

3. MAC 187 - I originally bought this for apply bronzer and still use it for that purpose! This brush is very multipurpose because I can also use this to apply foundation or blush. YAY.

4. Real Techniques Blush Brush - This is called a blush brush, but I definitely do not use it for that. This is a great brush to apply powders such as mineral skin finish natural from MAC.

5. MAC 266 -  I use this brush to apply powders over eyeliner to intensify it or for applying eyeshadow under the lashline. Lots of people use this brush for eyebrows, but I rarely do my eyebrows and if I do I use the brow kit from Benefit.

6. MAC 150 - Ahhh this is the latest addition to my fave brushes! For me this is the perfect brush to apply blush (try saying that out loud, but of a tongue teaser haha) This applies the product evenly, the only negative is that it's real hair. (costing over £30)

OK, so they are my favourite brushes!! I of course own more brushes but I don't think they're worth mentioning in this post! (If you want a brush collection don't hesitate to request ;) )

What are your fave brushes???

Ebay Purchase: Tartan Scarf

It's no secret that Tartan is in fashion this Autumn!
As I'm quite shy of wearing tartan I decided a more subtle way to add it to my wardrobe is a scarf!
Ebay can be amazing for certain fashionable peices eg: Disco pants, and so I ventured out to buy one from there.
I admittedly chose one of the first options when I searched "Tartan Scarf" but I am happy with the overall quality for the price! I do although wish the scarf was a little longer so I could wrap it around twice when it's slightly colder outside. It's pure wool though so it's not bad in the quality stakes.

Are there any recommendations to buy from Ebay or to buy A longer tartan scarf?

How do you prefer to follow other blogs?

I wasn't sure what to name this post as I just wanted to ask a quick question to everyone!

There are three ways to follow other blogs that I know of which are; "GFG"- google friend connect, Bloglovin and Google Plus.
Now although I use all 3 and other people can follow me on all three, I actually prefer to use GFC because then the blogs I like to read come up on my home page on blogger! This makes it so much easier to see when someone posts a new blog post.

I think that most bloggers prefer to use bloglovin, but somehow I haven't tried to use it properly yet  BUT I still make sure I follow people on there too.

So what ways do you prefer to follow other bloggers?

Love Laura xxx

Do US "little blogs" stand A chance?

As I've been blogging for a couple of months now, I believe I have gained a lot more experience and knowledge of the blogging world, duh Laura?
The thing is all the "big" or "well known" blogs seem to be people that have been blogging for a few years and so have gained more and more followers through those years....

But the down to the blog title question, could the little blogs become popular?
To be honest I think it's all down to the amount of effort you put into your blog, which includes things such as; A well thought out and clear blog design, the quality of your pictures, your networking, and how your personality shines through your posts (enjoy blogging and bringing more unique ideas).

Now if all those things are achieved I am thinking actually it's 75% yes 25% no

What do you think?
Is there any advice for the smaller blogs?

Love Laura xxx

I would like to point out that not everyone that blogs actually do it for followers!

My Current MAC Collection & Reviews

Hey guys!
So I have started to gain a little collection of products from the brand MAC. I wouldn't say I have a lot, only a couple of bits, but I love them all!

The "powdery" type products :
1. Mineralized Skin Finish in "soft and gentle"
This highlighter has been raved about on so many blogs, but amazingly I had this picked out for my by the sales assistant before I had heard about it!
The colour is great for so many skin tones, and I find this an easy every day highlighter. This will last for ages before it hits pan!

2. Pro Longwear Blush in " stay pretty"
I wanted an everyday pink blush that would suit my skin tone, and I defo think this suits the brief! It looks quite bright before applying (like many pink blushes) but you can add this bit by bit.

3&4. Mineralized skin finish natural "medium plus" & "medium"
These are my go to powders! For ages I searched for a powder that I could wear over my foundation without making it look cakey! As you can see I've hit pan on one them, which is the medium plus shade, i'm quite surprised I prefer that one because I'm actually quite pale, but the colour seems to just work over my foundation.

5. Bronzer in "golden"
I was randomly looking for a bronzer and bought this on a whim. I think this defo warms up my skin tone, but to be honest it's hard to notice I'm wearing this unless I layer it up.

The foundations:
1. Studio Sculpt foundation
I bought this because it was advertised as good for dry skin and that's my skin type! I hated this foundation on the first few tries, but now I LOVE it. The coverage is full. The only negative is that I have to wear a powder over it to contract the yellowness of the foundation. My shade is NW20

2. Face and body foundation
I bought this when I was in a phase of the "I'm not wearing any makeup" look. The coverage is very light, I would say this is amazing for dry skin. The negative is that it seems to be the only foundation out there that actually gives me spots and my skin is usually pretty good.

The eyeshadows:
I bought Amber Lights because I wanted a colour to make my bluey/green eyes stand out, and so the sales assistant recommended me this. To be honest I hardly wear this because I don't quite know how to use the colour and prefer to go for a more brown shade if I wear eyeshadow.
The Carbon eyeshadow was initially bought to use as a eyeshadow/eyeliner combo! But to be honest is defo isn't pigmented enough to wear that way. Again I am finding this difficult to wear at the moment unless I use it to shade over an eyeliner.

I also own a lipstick called "Snob" but couldn't find it at the time of photographing for this post.
What is your favourite MAC product?

Confessions Of A Blogger Tag

When did you start your blog?
Erm, without actually looking at my history, I think it was is May this year (2013)

Have you had any past online presence before (other blog, youtube etc.)?
Yes! I made a blog a few years ago. I then re found my blog about A year ago and showed my friends and family it, but because I didn't feel comfortable posting on that blog anymore I decided to make a new one and keep it private.
I also have been on youtube, in about 2011 I really got into it! I already said this on my blog before but my little brother found my channel and I got really embarrassed  I am a bit gutted because I had got close to around 1000 subs. One day I will get back into Youtube.

Why did you start your blog?
I always wanted to be an agony aunt, but also have been loving all things beauty. So A blog is a great way to share and chat with all those things in one! I didn't realize how good the blogging community is, but that would have been another reason if I knew.

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
Is this a trick questions? lol. Well I wouldn't see blogging "serious" until it was a job, or I had consumed a lot of followers. I see it as a bit of fun, if I couldn't blog anymore I would seriously miss it, but it isn't A HUGE part of my life.. yet.

What was your first post?
I think it was an introduction, sad I know. But I remember worrying about what to post first, and
that seemed kind of normal?

What has been the biggest challenge about blogging?
There has been a few things that I have found difficult about blogging, one is to try to think of unique blog post ideas.
Another challenge is to keep my blog up to date and post often. I do shifts and unless I spend a few hours planning posts and taking pictures I won't have a post for a while.

Where do you see your blog in one year?
Ahh, there is a difference between what I want and what I see happening.
I want my blog to gain popularity, I know that may seem like I'm blogging just to become popular, but I gain motivation from other people comments and views. I really want to find an enjoyable job for my future that includes writing, and I believe that my blog is a gateway to do it as I'm not a very brave person for going for what I want.
Now where I see my blog in a year is probably in a similar place it is now, I will have more followers hopefully, but I think it will still be a little blog because there are so many amazing blogs out there already.

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
Feedback!! I would love if I help at least one person with my blog! I also love chatting to other people that have the same hobby as me.

What is the most discouraging thing that's happens to you?
Probably seeing how good other peoples blogs are, ah, I don't mean it in a negative way, I mean as in I compare myself to others way too much.

Who's your lasting inspiration or motivation?
Bare in mind I'm reading the questions as I go along typing this, but there is one person that comes to mind, Zoella.
I bet people get sick of hearing about her, but the fact her life has changed so much thanks to a little blog (just like mine) has made me think there's a teeny tiny chance that something similar could happen to me.

Thankyou so much for reading my responses to these questions, I feel I've been verrrrrrry honest!

I tag all of you that reads this!

OOTN: bars&navy

Hey guys sorry for not posting for a few weeks, I've been busy and too be honest I couldn't be bothered with blogging- everytime it seems like a "job" to post, I decide not to blog until I want to blog for fun.

Anyways to quickly update before I post more in depth posts; I wanted to show you what I wore last night! ....
This is a playsuit from boohoo.com, I think it cost around £25/£30. I had this lingering in my wardrobe for about a month and couldn't decide if I liked it. I felt really comfortable in it and loved the fact my sleeves were covered in the cold weather (even though my legs wern't haha) I teamed it with some pink high heels and a clutch as there was subtle pink attributes in the playsuit.

I think playsuits are amazing things to have on your wardrobe because you can wear them to all sorts of occasions :)

Even though the lighting is really bad I thought I would show you my hair ad makeup! I did a kind of beehive with straightish hair.
Revlon photo ready foundation, mac stay pretty blush, revlon pencil eyeliner, boots own fake eyelashes, mixture of dark brown and black eyeshadow and a Rimmel mascara.

Thanks so much for reading, and as always of you have any requests, or just want a chat.. Don't hesitate to contact me :) x

#BritishBloggerSelection

I received an email from Ellie from the blog: littlevintagecamera, about a little thing called #BritishBloggerSelection.
This is where a bunch of British bloggers will write a post on their blog based on a theme each week!
As I love getting involved in blogger community style things I was really excited to get involved!

I am writing up this post a little late as already the first theme has been revealed which is "Halloween" And as I have already done a quick/short halloween style post I thought I would just write about this instead to get other people involved.

As ever don't hesitate to contact me about my blog, or just a chat etc.@

My Birthday: Spa Day&Night Out With The Girls

I am trying to share more and more about my life on my blog, because EVENTUALLY I will be confident enough in the future to show my friends and family my blog.
It was my birthday a couple of days ago, and even though I've never been one of those girls that get spoilt for my birthday.. I was rather excited this year because I was going to a spa for the first time! Me and my best friend decided to get a spa day package at  Amida spa which included A full pass to the spa facilities and A treatment of choice ( I chose the massage because I've never had one before!)

I highly recommend the 2 for 1 package, the staff were really professional and I had a great time :) I was given a robe, towel and flip flops for my time there.

I also decided to have a low key night out with some of my close friends at a local(ish) club! I was happy to be put in VIP which was a bonus! I also went a little more casual by wearing a playsuit. I love this playsuit from Boohoo because it covers up my arms with a lacey detail it's great for when it's a little bit colder ! I also love the open back detail.

What do you like to do on your birthday? Do you have any good ideas for next year?

What's In My Work Bag

Hey guys! So I've been seeing ALOT of "what's in my bag" blog posts, and I thought why not do my own!
As I work 6 days A week the main bag I use is the one I use for work (obviously) haha, So I changed the title a bit to incorporate the work esque to my post.

There are some things I couldn't show that are in my bag because I don't want to show where I work on my blog; so I am missing a folder and some other bits that usually fit into this bag!

As you can see I've got mainly basics in my bag!
There's very minimal makeup in this bag - the annoying thing about my job is that I can't take too much makeup in my bag (I don't know if that's A hint about my job haha) And so I take the odd lipsticks and blush just in case I get caught up in the rain or to update my makeup throughout the day.. Here I have Rimmels lipstick I think colour "pink blush" and A YSL lipstick (I have done a review on it, I will post a link below)

The basics that should be in every hand bag are; handcream, A pen, Vaseline, Mirror, diary, pain killers and Sanitizer (not shown in the picture because I've ran out) I have put my newest perfume in my bag which is  Armani Code. I've also got a random toothache numb product because you never know when you will get a toothache  throughout the day, I had a really bad one once at work and now carry this around with me!

Finally my purse! I am really excited to show this because this is a very new addition, and it's Michael Kors ... eeek!! I got this as a gift for my birthday(which was 3 days ago) and I love it, I've been wanting a MK purse for ages!

So yea that's my "what's in my bag" post all done and dusted! What essentials are in your bag??
Ps. I forgot to add my keys to this, they were in my other at the time!
Thanks for reading guys!! Love Laura xxx

Things To Do ON Halloween...

Yes Halloween is soon so I thought I would give you some ideas on what to do on the 31st

1. Fright Night
The actual attraction I'm talking about is held at Thorpe Park!
If you don't live in England there must be something similar held at your local theme park.

2. Haunted Farm/House
There was one haunted farm I really wanted to go to this year, but I've forgot the name of it!
But anyways there's one called Farmaggedon.

3. Clubbing
This is a bit of a been there done that thing to do, but lots of clubs will be open on halloween and it's a great excuse to dress up.
old picture taken a few years ago!

4. Camping In The Woods
With this one everyone needs to be careful, but will be a really scary thing to do.. perfect for halloween!

5. House Party
Holding a house party is super fun except from the cleaning up the next morning. Will be a great excuse to decorate your home for the spooky occasion.

6. Trick Or Treating
This one is only advisable if you're a kid yourself or you have younger siblings etc. to go with. Don't go if you're 12 or older ;)

What do you usually do on Halloween?
What are you doing this year on Halloween?

Why Do You Wear Makeup Tag & A photo of me without makeup.. eek

Image taken from ColourBox.com
Let's get straight to the questions..

1. When did you begin loving makeup?
Once a pon a time I used to be a TOMBOY, in which I claimed to be allergic to pink.. uh ye I know cringe. But anyways I started to get spots, and therefore was self conscious about my skin and so invested in foundation. I had worn lipsticks etc. before, but I really started to actually LOVE makeup once I had got used to wearing foundation on a regular basis (around age 15/16)

2. How do you feel without makeup?
I would be happy walking out the house with out any makeup EXCEPT some kind of tinted moisturizer or foundation! I have this belief that if you have great looking skin you don't need makeup! So without makeup I feel very self conscious, and would only let family or really close friends see me properly without makeup. So basically I feel quite ugly without it (even though I usually wear naturalish makeup.
The only OKish Photo of me without makeup (on holiday of course)

3. What do you like about makeup?
I like the fact that you can cover up most of your flaws, and attenuate your best features. I also like that you can create more of an identity.

4. Three holy grail items?
Foundation (obviously :p) - At the moment it's MAC studio Sculpt nw20
Powder - MAC mineralized skin finish in Medium
Mascara - I have a few mascaras :P

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers to this tag, I tried to not ramble too much haha xx

I over think EVERYTHING!

This best describes me sometimes..

So this is one of those post in which I'm trying to find "inner peace" or something like that. I think about everything before it happens, and sometimes it does take a toll on my emotions!
Many people may over think a situation, and I guess it's quite normal, but throughout the years my thoughts have grown more negative and hurtful when they needn't be!

I've always been jealous of people that just say "YOLO" and mean it.

I have now begun to read a book by Eric Harrison called Teach Yourself To Meditate. This is because after I researched ways to become more relaxed etc., meditation was top of the list!
I have read about a third of the book so far, and it's safe to say that I need to focus on one or two things not ten all at the same time. In the past year or so I've had this weird thing in which I focus on the way I react when people talk to me, this has been a nightmare because whenever I have a bad day or feel uncomfortable it shows all over my face and the more I think about it, the worse it gets! Does anyone else get that??

I actually think I am pretty normal deep down as whenever I see funny photos like this that my friends have posted, I think I am like that/think that too! See picture below:

ADVICE??
My advice for anyone battling with A same or similar problem is to not Google what you're worrying about, because I used to, and trust me it would make my anxieties WORSE.
Instead try your best to avoid thinking about what you're not trying to think about - easier said then done hey? but practice makes perfect!? Truly that last peace of advice isn't what you really should do as it's a short term pass. Instead write the things your thinking too much about on a peace of paper, and decided the worst and best things that would be the outcome.

If you are worrying about something that's happening a month away for example, I have a little tip. Whenever something I wasn't looking forward to at school was going to happen, I would say to myself "don't worry about it until this particular day", and that used to calm me down and not build up my thoughts until the allocated time picked!

Do you over think? Do you have any advice?
thanks for reading guys!

Review: YSL Lipstick #27 "Fushia Innocent"

I've been cheeky/lazy and used the photo I took for Instagram for this post.. ** INSTAGRAM **

....anyways I thought I had to do a review on my FIRST YSL lipstick (usually I go for the cheaper Rimmel lipsticks) But no I decided to splurge on a decent lipstick.. YAY
I wasn't originally going  to go for this colour, but a friend of mine picked this out for me, I instantly loved it!
I bought this from the airport costing £20, it might seem expensive, but this is a high quality lipstick after all.
Quality is actually the best word to describe ysl lipsticks because not only is the packaging amazing, but they are the most long lasting lipsticks I've ever tried!
Literally lasting hours!
The lipsticks also glide on nicely, no "cakeyness" or "overshineyness" -  I think I just failed at English. lol..

So yes I recommend this brand for lipsticks, it defo beats brands like MAC in my eyes, because of the longevity, and these lipsticks are slightly moisturizing!

What's your favorite lipstick?

PS. I thought I wouldn't write an essay review as I think you'll all fall asleep haha

What I Want To Buy On Pay Day #4

I haven't done one of these in a while..

I've been wanting mostly fashion items for the winter, and so I've thought well about looking "cute" in the cold weather :p.

Tartan seems to be the fashion statement for Autumn, and as I'm not into the tartan skirts and dresses- A scarf is a subtle way to wear it :)
I have wanted a YSL lipstick for ages, and so the colour no. 13 looks gorgeous (I think it's called peach passion), do I get it or not? hmm help!
Parkers are the coat of choice for this year and the highstreet is full of them, I like this one from Topshop!
Finally for nights out/clubbing it's sometimes wayy too cold to wear a skirt/dress/shorts, and so instead of my usual disco pants I think A jumpsuit is a good substiute!! - that rhymes ;)

What is on your wishlist for the next few months?

A little life update?

Hey guys, so I really want people who read my blog know a little more about me..
although I do have an "about me" page ;) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Anyways I thought I would update you on some things.
Firstly you will see the picture on the left is me taking a photo in the street! Somehow I just didn't really care who saw me, maybe that is a new level of confidence I haven't visited! Confidence has never been high for me, well maybe when I was in year 3 when I didn't know makeup existed and I had never heard of a bully. LOL

But yea I am really trying to work on my confidence, and one day would love to vlog, if my life got more interesting..

Ahh yea my life, and interesting unfortunately are not in the same sentence at the moment. I think I'm stuck in this circle of life, in which I work, sleep and eat. All the friends around me are meeting guys and just seem to have much more fun then me! I nearly went on a date a few weeks ago, but the idiot cancelled on me- knowing that it takes a lot to get me out on a date! He's been trying since to get me out, but I just choose to see it as a sign it wasn't meant to be - stupid superstitions :(.

Mentioning work, I do like my job, but it's not a career. I really love writing and of course that's why I am A "Blogger". I was searching through a job site and was astounded to see that there are real life blogger jobs out there - unpaid though!
I have also noticed I've been gaining weight, and worked out to be my comfortable size I need to loose a stone *weep* The app My Fitness Pal is great for counting calories!

I also got "geek" glasses from Hugo Boss (prescription), I've been wanting a pair for ages!!

I am really hoping I have something exciting/new happening soon because right now even though I'm in a really positive space, I will get really bored. I know things don't just come to me but I need to maybe branch out to new things, but it's really difficult when I don't have the confidence to try things outside of my comfort zone! I would love to go to a blogger meetup one day, I haven't met another person who's into blogging like me!

Thanks for reading guys! If you ever want a chat don't hesitate to contact me -
